Parenting With Hope: 9 Days of Gospel-Centered EncouragementSample

Day 5 – Beware of Busyness: Sports and Activities
Some days it seems like we’ve made a new competitive sport out of the question, Who is the busiest? Raising teens is a pressure-cooker environment. We may feel like other families around us are doing so much, and we’re struggling just to keep up. Let me encourage you: It’s okay to be different. Your family is your family. You get to choose the type of schedule you value.
I know it’s not easy. It’s hard to make choices that seem out of line with what others around us are doing. But, let me encourage you: You know your kids best. Choose a pace that is healthy for you all. Spend time together. Enjoy meals together. Go to church. These are activities you’ll never regret prioritizing.
Trust in the Lord. He will guide you. Take some time today to reflect and pray. What can you say to no to so that you can say yes to something better?
May God’s wisdom guide you!
