In the Garden With Jesus - a Lent Journey for TeensSample

To pray is to ask
Jesus teaches us to ask and shows us through His life how to ask. By asking, He shows His dependence on God. He doesn’t do anything from Himself but finds everything in His Father.
True joy comes to us when we get all our energy and life from Him. Not only do we acknowledge our dependence when we ask, but also His ability and goodness.
This doesn’t mean we always get what we ask for, as Jesus asked for the suffering and pain to pass Him and yet it didn’t. However, God always reacts to our prayers, just as he sent an angel to strengthen Jesus.
We may come to realise that He didn’t give us exactly what we wanted, but rather that which we needed in the moment.
Exercise:
Become aware of that which you have asked for and how He answered.
Prayer:
God, I ask for a deep awareness of Your love for me and Your work in me.

About this Plan

You are invited to a Lent journey where we will spend 40 days with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane - the place where He was extremely vulnerable and open to the Father’s will. Here, He shows us a glimpse of His courage to wrestle with His humanity.
