KykNET Lent Guide 2025: In the Shadow of GethsemaneSample

A Place of …
Such a lot happened to Jesus in His time in the garden, where he went out of habit. He spent time in solitude, prayed, struggled, and sweated blood but also surrendered. Let go of everything and just was. It’s a place of effort and release, work and rest, giving and receiving.
The place we need is not just a physical place. It is also a space within us where we have time. It’s a place where commitments, responsibilities, and deadlines are pushed to the side. It’s a place where a space opens up in the soul, where we can be empty and open to receive. It’s a space in form, time, and of the soul. It’s not an escape but a refuge. A refuge is a place of rest, refreshment, and protection. That is the testimony of many believers throughout the ages.
It's the place where things happen to you, on the other side of your thoughts. Things you can’t understand. By just being with Him in silence, a knowing and a conviction, a feeling will come into being within you that He is God.
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know…
Be still…
Be…
– Psalm 46:10
Exercise
- Commit the next few minutes you have with Him to Him by sharing with Him your intention and desire to be with Him.
- Just be… as you can… with Him (10 minutes?)
- Thank Him that you can be with Him in this way and ask Him for what you need for the day.
Prayer: I ask for a deep consciousness of Your love and work in my life.
