Loving Others With CompassionSample

Encourage Others With Your Words
The power of of affirming words and a positive presence
We all face challenges at various times in life. But what affects how people handle those moments? Why do some sink into isolated sadness while others persevere through? Believe it or not, sometimes it is as simple as a few affirming words. Dwight Bain describes how we can easily use our words and presence to encourage others.
Listen to Dwight:
As a community following Christ, Jesus asks us to encourage and comfort one another - just as He comforts us. Affirming someone in pain can leave a positive impression that is more lasting than you might imagine. God has given you a powerful presence and voice. What will you choose to do with yours? A little intentionality can go a long way when it comes to caring for those in your community.
Application Question:
- Dwight says, "I think sometimes individuals don't realize the importance and the impact of just simply their presence and saying 'hey, I know who you are.' " Is there someone you can encourage today with those words?
About this Plan

Compassion is a powerful word. It goes deeper than showing sympathy for a person's pain. Compassion drives you to action. Each of these five devotionals contains a short audio message (1-2 minutes). The guests share about hearing from God, encouraging others, loving unconditionally, and proper boundaries. By the end of the five days, you should have a stronger sense of how to love with compassion.
