Did you know that Jesus was accused and had to go on trial for claiming to be a “King?” Pilate was a Roman governor who had the power to sentence Jesus to death at this trial if Jesus was found guilty.
During His trial, instead of begging for Pilate to save His life, Jesus spoke truth and calmly shared His purpose for coming to the world. Pilate quickly realized that Jesus was innocent even though Pilate did not fully understand that Jesus’s destiny was to be an eternal heavenly king, not just an earthly one.
