Homecoming Fasting & Prayer DevotionalSample

Salvation
Daily Thought:
Unfortunately, grief is an unavoidable aspect of life. In 2 Corinthians 7, Paul draws upon grief rooted in a deep concern for the kingdom, God’s family, and some of the most complex parts of life—what he called “godly grief.” However, this grief does not lead to despair but genuine repentance and salvation. This way, repentance makes way for a new life in Christ that can shed light on even the darkest days.
Scripture Excerpt:
2 Corinthians 7:10, ESV
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
Prayer Point:
Spend time in prayer and consider the areas of your life where you or the world around you is grieving. In an act of repentance, approach the Lord in a new way to understand this grief in light of the beautiful reality of the salvation offered to you through Christ.
