When we make mistakes, it’s easy for the lies of condemnation to creep into our heads and hearts. But God didn’t send Jesus to condemn everyone who wasn’t living right. No, God sent Jesus to save us. That’s massive! We can easily feel unworthy, unloved, and ashamed, but John tells us that Jesus never speaks those things to us. He’s here to rescue us. Because of the resurrection, John knew that God is love—a love that doesn’t push us away but pulls us closer no matter what.
Today, write down what has made you feel ashamed or unworthy of love in the past. Strike through it after it’s written. Write “…but Jesus saves me because He loves me” in its place.
