Prayer 4: He Gives Power to Get Wealth

In Deuteronomy 8:18, we read that the Lord gives us power to get wealth. How does He do this? Throughout the book of Proverbs, we learn that He gives us that power by giving us wisdom and creative ideas for how to build wealth. He especially loves to download witty inventions and timely business ideas into our hearts.

For example, did you know that the Holy Spirit gave the idea for the compound bow to its inventor in a dream? True story. And just like God knew exactly how that bow should be invented, He has witty inventions and business ideas for you too.

But, will you listen to the Lord when He gives you ideas for getting wealth?

God gives the ideas, but it is up to us to obey Him when He speaks. Therefore, I encourage you today: if God is trying to increase you financially, and He gives you a business idea, don't ignore it. Instead, trust God and run with it!

Yes, it's possible that an idea could be from your own mind. However, if an idea is from your own mind only, and not from the Lord, it will usually sputter and die. On the other hand, if an idea is from God, you will know it as you pursue the idea. The fruit will be evident.

So, what kind of business idea has God given you? Pray about it, seek His wisdom, and go after whatever He says to do! Remember that He gives you power to get wealth, but the actually "getting" of wealth requires your obedience to follow His guidance!

Pray this today:

"Father God, thank You for giving me power to get wealth. I know You want me to have wealth so I can manage it for You, and for Your Kingdom, on this earth. Therefore, please help me to listen to Your wisdom. Help me to utilize and walk in this power to get wealth that You have given me.

I ask in Jesus' name that You would tune my ears to hear Your voice and ideas. Align my eyes to see what You want me to do. Help me to recognize every wealth-building idea You give me, Lord, from paying off debt to building a business.

Help me to follow You in whatever You tell me to do, and then to manage the money You send for Your glory, and to increase Your Kingdom on the earth. Thank You, Father. In Jesus' name, amen."
