Twenty Five Days of Christmas DevotionsSample

God had promised King David that from his lineage would come the promised Messiah, who would deliver the people from their sins. Yet, years before the coming of the Messiah, God also declared that this King would be born in the lowest of the descendants of David. And so it was that out of all the many clans of Judah, God chose the humble couple of Joseph and Mary to nurture and raise the Saviour of the world.
God has a habit of using the weak and foolish to shame the strong and the wise. You may feel that you are not good enough to perform alongside your more illustrious colleagues. But God is not looking for the highly distinguished or the exceptionally talented, rather He is looking for those whose hearts are wholly devoted to Him.
