PhilippiansSample

Throughout Paul's time with the Philippians, and apart, the Philippians had been a consistent source of support: friendship, financial, and prayer. But most importantly they had a shared mission to make the gospel known. The Philippians were committed to Paul, not because of His success or lack of it, but were faithful to love him and partner with him. And for this reason, Paul had joy! And even more so knowing that it was God’s kindness working through them!
V.6 “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
Paul's confidence was in the goodness of the work the Lord had done and knowing He wouldn’t leave it unfinished. As humans, we are limited in what we can accomplish in our own human strength and willpower. But it is when we partner with God and allow Him to work in us and through us that His Will will be accomplished! We serve a God who will never abandon us. If God begins a work, we can believe and have hope and faith that He will complete it.

About this Plan

The letter to the church in Philippi is an incredible example of what it means to live as a follower of Jesus in light of what was accomplished in Jesus' death and resurrection. This book is an essential text for the church as we seek to live the way of Jesus in practice.
