Advent: The Coming of Jesus ChristSample

DEVOTIONAL
This week, we have been celebrating the JOY of the manger, found explicitly in the Shepherds. Today is short and sweet because all we have "to do" is REJOICE! There are many ways to glorify and praise God. But one of my favorite ways is by singing...
ACTIVITY
Sing the Christmas carol, "O Come O Come Emmanuel." Have fun with instruments (homemade or real) and harmonies. It doesn't have to sound pretty; it just should be worship! Write out the song's lyrics and talk about its meaning.
NOTE: Depending on the age of your kids, this may be a little awkward. With teens, explaining why we do the things we do is crucial. If singing in quiet is a little much for your crew - find a version you love and make a Christmas Worship playlist to enjoy together. If you have an older child, task them with creating a family Christmas Worship playlist to share. Most older kids love the opportunity to "have the aux."
