THE MAN IN CHRIST-- Oneness

“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." 1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV

Oneness with the Lord is the reality of a Man in Christ. Indeed, two has become one. The Man immersed into Christ by his faith in Christ for salvation has become legally and vitally one with Christ. The two have become inseparable. This implies that the Father-God sees the Man in Christ the way He sees Christ.

Those of us who have this privilege of being in Christ must understand that we share in the blessedness of the Son of God. We have access to the Father-God the same way Christ has access to Him. We are not less of sons; we have the blessed rights of sonship that Christ has. This oneness we have with Christ is the life we have right now. It's not something that will happen in some distant times. It's not something we hope or pray for. It is something we have here and now. Everything Christ can do we can do because we are one with Him through our being joined with Him by faith. We share in His authority. We have His wisdom and power. We are one with Christ.

This truth may seem vague at first when we hear it, but nothing could be truer. When we were born again, we became joined with the Living Christ. We became sons of God and divinity began to flow in our being. Jesus did not come to offer another religion. There were countless religions already. He came to give life and to make spiritually dead men sons of God. He achieved this through His death, burial, and resurrection. We became a part of this oneness when we dared to believe the gospel. Christ would not renege on His promises of being one with us. Thus oneness is both present and eternal. Both true and real. It is our eternal reality.
