TALKING to GODSample

"Ask and Receive: The Joy of Prayer"
John 16:24 NIV
"Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."
In today's devotional, let's see how prayer can alleviate our worries and bring us blessings beyond measure.
Imagine that a very rich man allows you to ask him for whatever you desire, you sure would not hesitate to make requests. More grandly, the Lord Jesus has given us the privilege of coming to lay our petitions at His feet.
Many times, we live in the agony of soul and worry because we have not learnt to lay our cares at God's feet in prayer and receive His joy. Joy and peace are always the first results of our talking to God. Apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 4:6, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Talking to God is the surest way to keep your heart in absolute joy and peace.
Those heavy burdens you are carrying are too heavy for you and you will never be able to carry them. Why not talk to God about them? Let Him carry them for you and, in exchange, give your heart peace and joy.
