When a flashlight starts to run out of power, a few things can happen. The light might flash unexpectedly, or it may not shine as brightly. The same thing can happen to our faith when we aren't consistent in how we stay connected — or charged up — with God.
In today's reading, David writes a psalm about how deeply God knows him. Their relationship is so close because of all the time David spends with God. When we make time in our schedules and spend it with God, we grow closer — just like in any other relationship. When we're inconsistent in our habits, our connection with God might feel dry, or disconnected.
To keep your faith at its strongest and brightest, you'll need to develop a set rhythm for how you spend time with God. Whether it's through prayer, walks in nature, or reading your Bible, building up a consistent rhythm for connecting with God will help you in so many ways. If you do have a few moments of inconsistency, that's okay. You can give yourself grace and start rebuilding your rhythm the next day.
Choosing to spend time with God is the most important way to strengthen your faith and connection with God. So, how can you get started? If you haven't yet, start with a small connection and let it build over time. Do your best to stay consistent in your habits so your faith can shine bright in the world.

About this Plan

For the next four weeks, we'll take some time to explore how we can build rhythms that help us connect with God in new ways. We'll discover how to build a strong rhythm that can sustain us through whatever life brings our way. We'll look at how to create rhythms that help us spend time with God, use our gifts, share our stories, and spend time with others.
