The Key One of the most misunderstood things in our faith is the concept of The Cross and yet it is one of the most crucial things to our faith. Over the years, culture has changed how people view and relate with The Cross. It is painful to see that The Cross means no more than a fashion accessory to a lot of people. However, the key is The Cross and The Cross is the key. To walk in the fullness of the resurrection power of God, God wants us to see and grow in our appreciation of The Cross. Jesus took our place on The Cross so that we can take His place in life. This truth has so much depth to it and Jesus helps us understand it in Luke 9:23, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me." In essence, Jesus is saying if you want to experience the resurrection power and grow in your appreciation of The Cross, you have a part to play. And that part is also in a cross - your cross. Your cross is not pain, or sickness, or depression. Your cross is in letting go of your way for God's way. Jesus demonstrates this at Gethsemane. Just like Jesus says, you and I will have to deal with The Cross daily. Daily, we will be confronted with this choice - God's way or yours? As we choose Jesus every day, we will experience Him more and grow in our value for The Cross. Prayer: Jesus, Your sacrifice on The Cross will not be in vain in my life.
