Unbreakable: Surviving Life's TrialsSample

Day 4: Loss
I’m no stranger to loss. The death, disappearance, or imprisonment of a loved one has a way of shaking us to the core. It makes us reflect on life, contemplate regrets, and ponder how to continue living with this new emptiness once filled by a cherished human being. My greatest loss to date is my youngest son, Josiah. To my knowledge, he is still alive as I write these words, but I haven’t seen him since the winter of 2019. He was 7 years old. His father (a very controlling person) acted slanderously and deceitfully toward me during a very vulnerable time in my life. His actions resulted in me never being able to see my dear son again. I miss my innocent, loving, and kind-hearted son. My heart aches for him. I remember his sweet hugs, and I pray for him every night.
FEAR NOT!
Lean on the Lord as your strength. Our God is all-knowing, and all-powerful, and time and space have no hiding place for our Lord! He will protect you and give you the ability to continue going on. He will hold your loved one in the palm of His very capable and loving hands – no matter where they are.
Prayer will help you through anything and faith will help you remember that you don’t have to do this alone. No one can keep us from our loved ones that belong to Him. In this life or the next, come what may, they will be waiting for you on the other side.
