Seek and Find

Have you ever seen dolphins jumping in the ocean?

Sometimes the dolphins are jumping and playing in the waves right in front of us. But other times we miss them because we aren’t looking. We can look in the opposite direction, and sometimes we are too busy scrolling on our phones to see the dolphin show right in front of us.

We don’t always see the dolphins swimming in the ocean, but we know they are out there.

God’s presence in our lives can feel like that. Just like the dolphins, we know God is out there, but we don’t always see him.

We may go about our day, trying to see God, but we aren’t looking in the right direction. Sometimes we are too busy scrolling on our phones or crossing off our to-do lists to notice God moving right in front of us. And sometimes, you may look where you last experienced God’s presence, but he is nowhere to be found.

God promises to draw close to us when we draw near to him. He wants to be found, and he promises to be found when we seek him with our whole heart.

If you’ve been trying to feel closer to God, don’t give up. Keep looking. Keep searching.

Just like the dolphin that pops out of the water when you least expect it, you’ll experience God’s presence in your life.

Prayer

God, thank you for your constant presence around me. I desire to see you and hear your voice. As I draw close to you, I pray I feel your presence and love around me. Reveal yourself to me today as I call on you and seek you with my whole heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.
