THRIVE Mom Devotional Series Part 3: A Mom's Guide to Navigating Friendships to Thrive

DAY 4 OF 5

Day 4: Friends In Purpose: Mom Edition

Hey there, super moms! Let's dive into the wild and wonderful world of friendships. Buckle up and get ready for a fun-filled adventure called "Friends In Purpose!" Woohoo!

You know what's tougher than conquering a strong city? Winning back a friend you've offended. It's like trying to scale walls that seem impossibly high. Proverbs 18:19 reminds us just how challenging it can be. But fear not, for there's hope!

God designed relationships and friendships to be a vital part of our lives. They bring us joy, support, and encouragement. But let's keep it real, ladies. Sometimes friendships can get a bit messy. Conflicts happen. Jealousy, miscommunication, and differing perspectives can stir up storms. We've all been there, right?

But here's the good news: God's got our backs. His Word provides principles to guide us through the ups and downs of friendships. It's like having a secret playbook for friendship success!

Take a look at Colossians 3:13. It tells us to bear with each other and forgive, just as the Lord forgave us. Forgiveness is the secret sauce that can mend even the toughest of relationships. Letting go of grievances fosters friendship and brings us closer together. Now that's a recipe for good times!

Oh, and don't forget Proverbs 17:9. Dwelling on disputes will only drive a wedge between friends. Instead, let's focus on forgiveness and understanding. It's like hitting the reset button and giving your friendship a fresh start.

And here's a golden nugget from James 1:19-20: Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. In the heat of a conflict, taking a step back, truly hearing each other out, and keeping our cool can make all the difference. It's like sprinkling some chill vibes into the mix.

You see, conflicts in friendships don't have to be the end. They can be opportunities for growth, for deeper connection, and for experiencing God's transforming power. It's all about how we handle the challenges and how much we value our friendships.

So, this week, let's soak our hearts in the truth of God's Word. Let's be willing to humbly accept our part in conflicts and seek resolution. Let's be peacemakers and bridge builders. And let's trust in God's grace to guide us through the process.

And now, let's say a prayer:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the beautiful gift of friendship. We know that conflicts can arise but we trust in your wisdom and guidance. Fill our hearts with your truth and love as we navigate the complexities of friendships.

Help us to be quick to forgive, just as you forgave us. Teach us to let go of grievances and embrace a spirit of reconciliation. Show us how to listen, understand, and respect one another. And when conflicts arise, give us the courage to address them with grace and humility.

May our friendships be a reflection of your love and bring joy and support to our lives. Help us to value and cherish the friends you've placed in our paths. And may our friendships always be filled with laughter, adventure, and purpose.

In Jesus' name, we pray.

Amen!

Now, go forth, fabulous moms, and embrace the power of friendship! Together, we can conquer anything and create memories that will last a lifetime. You've got this!

High-fives and friendship cheers all around!
