Andrew Marcus - Constant - The Overflow Devo

Day 1 of 7 • This day’s reading

Standing on the power of the resurrection

Something significant happens every time God’s people gather together to worship corporately as a family. I literally count down the days until our weekend services where we get to do this!

We Are Redeemed is an anthem of God’s people joining together to declare and celebrate who God is and what He has done for us.

We join with shouts of praise
To lift Your holy name
Your grace and mercy have redeemed
We join our hearts as one
To glorify the Son
Whose grace and mercy have redeemed

There are a lot of people who wouldn't call themselves Christians, yet still believe that Jesus was a historical figure who lived many years ago. Many of them also believe that Jesus died and that there is historical evidence that reveals this truth.

There is a very significant part of the gospel story that many people wrestle with: that Jesus rose from the grave. The resurrection is foundational to the faith of believers. If the resurrection of Jesus is not the cornerstone of our faith, our faith crumbles.

Because of Your great love You made a way
You lived You died then rose up from the grave

We see in the book of Acts, that the apostles proclaimed the good news about Jesus. What was the good news? That he resurrected!

“With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.” - Acts 4:33

The resurrection of Jesus means that death has been defeated. Sin has been conquered once and for all!

We were ransomed by Your sacrifice
For the world You were crucified

Live out the resurrection power in your life today! May God’s grace work powerfully through you as you proclaim this powerful truth.
