Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 7Sample

This whole chapter of Hebrews six starts with the writer's desire for us to become mature in our faith.
He mentions that it is possible to stay immature.
One sign of immaturity is impatience.
Patience is a fruit of the spirit that grows in our lives when we are rooted and grounded in God’s love.
Through His love shown in the finished work of the cross, we all became inheritors of a new life. We all received promises from God, and some of them might not have become a reality in our lives yet.
How do you handle these situations? Do you become lazy and careless about them?
Or are you still trusting God? Trusting Him in such a way that you can be patient because you are convinced that God will do what He promised.
It is vital in our faith journey to learn from role models who have shown us the way. The Hebrew writer paints us this beautiful example of Abraham, who waited patiently for twenty-five years for the fulfillment of his promised son Isaac. Abraham trusted God's word; he was mature in his faith.
We are invited to trust God in the same way, and we are challenged to follow and imitate examples.
Do you have examples you can imitate? Maybe it would be a good idea to talk to them about their journey.
May you be convinced that all of God's promises are YES in Christ.
