Romans Part 2 - FaithSample

GOOD NEWS
Having established conclusively, in the preceding verses, the sin-guilt of mankind through Adam and the inescapable stain of depravity common to every human, Paul now brings the actual Good News...that God has provided the means of redemption and the freedom that comes from righteousness in Christ Jesus, free from the Law. Paul is also reminding his readers that the Messiah has come, as foretold by Moses and the prophets. The church in Rome would be quite familiar with this.
Christ came, not to abolish the law, but to fulfill the law - Matthew 5:17
Bringing freedom through faith, instead of through our vain attempts at righteousness, through keeping the law. Our debt has been paid! His finished work on the cross satisfied, forever, the requirements of the law. His love is so great. This truly is the Best News Ever.
“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s path to follow our own...
...yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” - Isaiah 53:5-6 NLT
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” - John 15:13 NIV
-Matt Harry
