John #3: The Woman at the Well
This lesson uses the questions Who is Jesus? What is faith? And What is Life? to unpack the stories of John 4 and 5. At a well with a sinful Samaritan woman, Jesus reveals Himself as God’s Messiah giving eternal waters that spring up from inside the believer and flow to others, transforming hearts as they go. At the pool of Bethesda, however, a healed man misses his chance to stand with Jesus against His attackers and chooses the earthly delights from “Saul’s table” over the everlasting waters of salvation offered from David’s well.

About this Plan

Luke's Gospel showcases Jesus' humanity as God-man, emphasizing compassion and relatability. It introduces famous parables like the Prodigal Son and Good Samaritan. With more details on Jesus' birth, Luke provides a clear mission statement. In contrast, John's Gospel adopts a unique style, featuring "I AM" statements and focusing on signs. Its purpose is to foster belief in Jesus as the Son of God for eternal life.
