Details about the area around the Tabernacle are described today. The descriptions are so detailed which shows us two things:
1. God’s dwelling place was to be honored as sacred.
2. The Israelites had taken great care in preserving these instructions and handing them down to the generations after them.
Notice how the oil is to burn continually as a sign of the continuation of God’s covenant. This becomes a “lasting ordinance” for every generation.
