Moses - a Life of PurposeSample

Moses had a walking stick, the Bible calls it a staff. A staff did more than give extra support when walking, it could also be a weapon in battle, a symbol of authority, or used by a shepherd to protect sheep.
When God called to Moses from the burning bush, Moses didn’t think people would believe that God had sent him, so God told Moses to put his staff on the ground. When he did, it turned into a snake! God told him to pick it up and when he did it turned back into a staff. When Moses led God’s people out of Egypt, they escaped over the Red Sea, when Moses held his staff up and God parted the sea so they could cross over.
On its own, it’s just a stick - with God, it could part the seas! On our own, we can’t do much, but God can use us to do amazing things! God empowers you to live out His purpose.
