Moses - the Friend of GodSample

The LORD Hears our Groans and He will Come Through!
Exodus 2:23-25 - After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The people of Israel groaned because they were slaves. They also cried out to God. Their cry for help went up to him. God heard their groans. He remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites with concern for them. (NIrV)
I love it when I stumble upon a passage like this in the Bible. It reminds me that no matter how long it takes, no matter what it looks like God hears my groans, prayers, petitions and cries. Not only does he hear but he also remembers his promises to me and looks at me with concern. In the chapters to come in Exodus, we see that God comes to the rescue with an elaborate plan to save the people of Israel. All that they needed to do was to wait and trust that God would come through for them.
Whatever you are going through, remember that the LORD hears your cries and groans and he will come through!

About this Plan

We all know that Moses was a great leader, used by the LORD to help the people of Israel. But all too often we forget about his initial struggles and how they shaped his character. This short devotional looks at the lessons we can learn from Moses' early life and challenges. This devotional is an amended extract from an upcoming book by Jean Kabasomi.
