Presence 11: The Lord's PrayerSample

Give us today our daily bread.
Yesterday we reflected on the idea that God is in the business of rebuilding us, shaping us into who we are meant to be and what we were created for. Today’s verse looks at God’s provision.
I believe that God provides much more than bread to eat, he meets so many of our needs, sometimes even those needs we are not even aware we have.
He guides and reassures.
He gives us our identity.
He give us rest.
He gives us grace.
He give us peace.
He saves us.
I am sure you can add to this list of what God has given you. The more we look to God and receive from him, the more we unfurl and bloom.
I invite you now to read and reflect on this poem and watch the video. Then spend some time at the end in quiet reflection thanking God for the things he has provided for you in your life.
My Daily Bread
You meet my needs better than anyone else I know.
My heart is never barren in your hands,
.
You plant and tend to me like a gentle mother
Or a caring lover.
Giving me space to bloom like never before.
.
In the whirls of change and transformation
You offer me guidance and reassurance
like a trusted brother, or a protective father
standing up for my honour
and give me the space to speak my truth.
.
I lay my requests to you in the morning
and when evening arrives I rejoice for
the way you found in my unfolding,
In my daily comings and goings,
In every moment.
