6 Steps to DestinySample

Day 4: Covenant
A covenant is a formal alliance or agreement between a man and woman ordained by God. We can view a covenant as a sacred form of a relationship. God even describes and demonstrates a covenant through His relationship with the church, referred to as the bride. Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it."
Three of God's many characteristics stand out: Love, Unity, and Relationship. In the beginning, He shows how He desired Adam not to be alone, so He created him, his helpmeet. When we look at the bigger picture of Adam and Eve, we understand that God was showing there is so much more power in having a partner. God even demonstrated His divine and strategic plan to show how connected a man and woman are by pulling Eve (the rib) from Adam's side.
To have a healthy and prosperous marriage/covenant, one must first master their relationship with God and be completely whole within themselves. Then, one must understand and abide by the core principles of a Godly marriage: Respect, Honor, Communication, and Love. Last, the two must know their purpose as one. Marriage is a purpose and ministry within itself, and when understood, worked, and nurtured, it can bring about the true and prosperous fulfillment of God's will.
