Day 2- Chasing Revival
Some believers may argue that we should not chase “revival” but should rather focus on the fundamentals of church building – making disciples and reaching our communities. But asking God for an outpouring of His Spirit is not an escape route from the fundamentals of Christianity; it is a necessity for building healthy churches!
We are to follow the Biblical mandates as outlined in the New Testament while at the same time not ignoring the mighty move of the Spirit that we are asking for and so desperately need. Doing the fundamental work as believers will only be empowered and furthered by an outpouring of His Spirit.
Revival does not negate the need for the local church and the process of making disciples; revival expedites the process and produces the initial desired results: lives radically transformed to follow Christ! If you are a believer who is building the church and yet desires more of God and His Spirit, this is a cry that reaches God’s heart, so cry out with passion and ask God to move in power in our day.

About this Plan

For generations, the global church has been asking God to bring revival. In this 8-day Bible Plan from his book “In Our Day,” Pastor Dave Patterson will address the God-given cry for God to do MORE in our churches and cities. We cannot manipulate or manufacture a move of God, but we can position ourselves to participate in what He is doing today. Let’s posture ourselves to be in the middle of His move and ask the Lord to “DO IT IN OUR DAY!” —Dave Patterson
