Joy to the World: An Advent Bible Reading PlanSample

Read Isaiah 11:1-5
Over 700 years before Jesus, Isaiah describes the Messiah as being belted with righteousness – everything He does is held together by doing what is right. This was the way the Messiah lived – something that we too should practice.
Pray
Pray that today you can ‘live righteously.’ Not perfect. Not sinless. Just pray that you can go into today resolved to do things the right way – to live like Jesus. Give it a try and if you mess up, start over again.
Practice
Find someone today that you need to ‘come clean’ with – is there something you need to confess? Something you need to admit or something for which you need to ask forgiveness? Do it today.
