What I’ve Learned

Dear Lord,

I need to be wiser. I need to hear your voice. Growing in faith is a lifelong learning opportunity. I make progress, learn a few things, get somewhat comfortable with what I know, and then have to go back to the books. As soon as I turn the page, there’s a whole lot more to learn.

You have certainly provided many teachers, and some lessons come with lasting consequences. Sin is a teacher as long as we recognize the error of our ways. Disappointment is a teacher because it makes us look inside ourselves to see what we might have done to cause it.

I pray for wisdom for all of us who want to keep learning your lessons. I thank you for all the people who have helped me grow in faith simply by loving me into greater understanding, giving me room to try my wings, and taking me in when I needed a place to start again. Amen.
