Theology for Everybody: RomansSample

It is important to tell people what Jesus has done for you. Your testimony is powerful. Many people don’t know Jesus, but they know you, and if you tell them about Jesus, they may come to know Him too.
When Paul says, “By word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God” (v. 18–19), he is referring to the anointing of God. The most important thing for Christians is the anointing of God on their lives. When you have this anointing, you know God’s will, have His power and walk in His timing.
The world doesn’t understand that life doesn’t work right without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We keep thinking. Well, if we just found more money, that would fix people. No, only the Holy Spirit really fixes people. Well, if we just had more education...You can have more education, but you can’t have wisdom without the Holy Spirit. It’s not about what we do but what He does. The older I get, the one thing I’m looking for more than anything else is the anointing of the Holy Spirit. If God’s there, I want to be there too. If God is doing something, I want to do that thing too.
We want to repent of our sin because sin can block the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We want to open the Bible, so the Holy Spirit can speak to us through the Word He has written. Set the anointing of the Holy Spirit as the top priority in your life. Some people get up every day and think, I want to win. I want to be successful. I get up and think, I want to be anointed. Being anointed is better than being in charge or in control, which are both illusions anyway because God is the only one in charge and in control.
As a young Christian, I had many convictions, beliefs, doctrines, theologies, and opinions. I still have many opinions, but more than anything, I want to do life with the people in whom I see the Holy Spirit. I see His fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I want to see people who have God’s hand on their lives, and by God’s grace, I want to be one of those people.
