The Gospels - Miracles

DAY 15 OF 15

Imagine you went out to a restaurant with your friend. Then at the end of the meal they say “this is on me” and they pay for it. If the waiter ran to you guys asking for proof that you paid, you could simply show them the receipt.

Jesus has paid for our sins, so we don’t have to. Even if someone tries to make you feel bad about sin, we can point them to Jesus as our proof of payment; and this payment guarantees us eternity

The cross was not the end of Jesus, in fact, He was putting an end to the power of sin and death.Jesus paid the price for sin by dying on the cross and He rose again showing the whole world that our debt has been paid, and He has power over sin and death. Death didn’t defeat Jesus, He defeated death.

Here’s a verse you may know well, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” What does eternal life mean?

Eternity is a word that means never ending, going on and on and on forever and ever. So eternal life means life that never ends, it goes on and on forever and ever. The Bible describes Heaven as paradise where we will live forever with God. Trying to live a perfect life here on earth doesn’t get us to Heaven, it’s only through Jesus that we can have this eternal life. Jesus has power over sin and death.
