Close to God Although God is willing to draw close to us, there is a scriptural condition to His doing so. We must draw close to Him. He is ready, even warmly anxious, to respond to us—but He awaits invitation. It is not a matter of God requiring protocol, as though He were a cosmic pre-madonna or a celebrity. He doesn’t have the temperament for such contrived games. But He does know the human heart.
