Sanctification
It is an incredible promise: If we will allow it, God Himself will sanctify us! When we think of all that needs to be done in our lives, we begin to wonder exactly what it will take to blast the resistance of our flesh into sanctification before the Lord. We want to live the holiness of life in the Lord, but our fears say that it will take prolonged, spiritual warfare to subjugate our carnal man. In contrast, the text goes on to say that when the God of peace has completed His work there will be a total transformation, spirit, soul, and body.
The saying goes, "God loves you too much to leave you the way you are." It is true! He is not asking us to start a self-help program, become more sincere, or struggle toward perfection. He is perfection! If we will allow His life to grow in us, then we will truly be sanctified and blameless at His coming.
