DAY 219 OF 365

Show No Prejudice

Jesus lived in a culture filled with prejudice. There was prejudice against the Romans, against the religious leaders, and against women. There was also distinct racial strain between the Jews and Samaritans (John 4:9). They did not frequently interact with one another, and in some cases, outright hostility and hatred existed.

In this parable Jesus used a despised Samaritan to illustrate compassion, which was all the more commendable in that the person the Samaritan assisted, under normal circumstances, probably would not have even spoken to him.

But Jesus consistently brought the life of God to those who were outcast within His culture. We see this as He ministered to the Samaritan woman (John 4:1–26) and the Roman centurion (Luke7:1–10).

Christ in His coming, has broken down the ultimate barrier of division between us and God (Eph. 2:14). And when we accept His life, He breaks down the barriers between us and or the another. Let Him make you free today as He restores trust and relationship.
