Joy For Today: 14 Joy-Filled Days With God Sample

"Put God First!" Ever since I was a little girl I have known Proverbs 3:6 off by heart. The Living Bible reads as follows: “In every thing you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” Today’s Scripture verses are indeed the very best recipe for happiness and success in the year ahead. If you are prepared to put God first in everything and to always ask His will and obey it, He promises to make your paths in life smooth, to manage your affairs, and to crown all your efforts with success. God is a jealous God; we read this at the beginning of the Ten Commandments. He will not allow His children to worship other gods besides Him, but insists on His children’s complete love and loyalty. Today there are many other things that we are in danger of finding more important than God; on which we spend more time and money than on God’s kingdom. What are you putting first in your life? Make a deliberate decision that all these things will be second in your life, so that God can be first. Then you can be sure that God will bless you! PRAYER: Father, today I want to ask Your will first in everything I do, and put You first in my life. Thank You for Your promise that You will then crown my life with success. Amen.
