Advent in Exile - Christmas Longing With IsaiahSample

What a wonderful explanation about what the word Shalom means from the Bible Project video. I didn’t realize there were so many different meanings attached to this word.
Isaiah prophesied about the Messiah and how He will come from the line of Jesse. This promised Messiah would have the very Spirit and power of God within Him. (Isaiah 11:1-2)
The Bible Project video stated, “To bring shalom literally means ‘to make complete’ or ‘restore’ ” This means that God sent His son into the world to bring “Shalom” by making a way to complete or restore us to Him.
“True peace requires taking what is broken and restoring it to wholeness, whether it’s in our lives, our relationships, or in our world” (The Bible Project).
As you prepare to close out your time with God today, ask yourself: Where do I need true peace in my life? What relationships need restoration?
Then share those burdens with your Heavenly Father, who longs to restore you and ask Him to bring you His perfect peace.
