Advent in Exile - Christmas Longing With IsaiahSample

In Isaiah 49, we see a beautiful poem of the ever-caring and redeeming God. He compares Himself to a nursing mother, but has more care than these (verse 15). God will utterly restore His people! They will go from being a reproach to being royalty, royalty to whom kings and queens will pay homage.
He will be their redeemer and refuge forever, as Psalm 31 affirms.
In this Advent season, we look back to the Birth of this promised Redeemer, coming in His First Advent!
We also look forward to the conquering and restoring King, coming in His Second Advent.
Here in Isaiah 49, we see the future of God’s people, the New Israel, restored and glorified.
Look for the themes of restoration, renewal and glorification that is our future as the Church, the Bride of Christ!
"In Light of this Advent Season, what is your heart longing for?"
