Zechariah paints an interesting picture of the Messiah as a ruler, but one that rides on a donkey. A donkey was a symbol of peace and pilgrimage, not of war.
So although the coming promised one was going to be a ruler, He was going to "proclaim peace to the nations" (Zechariah 9:10).

About this Plan
This plan follows the prophecies about the Messiah and then the life of Jesus. During this advent season as MyLocal church, we want to look at the life of Jesus and his incredible message to humanity. We believe Jesus is the Messiah prophesied about in the Hebrew Bible: Emmanuel, 'God with us'. In this winter season we remember hope despite the circumstances.
