Hope for Wounded Hearts: Readings From IsaiahSample

Think about this question as you reflect on today’s readings: How do these passages reflect God’s heart for oppressed and hurting people?
The Lord’s Character
God’s commitment to justice, desire for peace, and care for the marginalized are demonstrated repeatedly throughout the Bible. One of God’s names is “Prince of Peace” (9:6), identifying him as an advocate for unity and restoration. God clothes himself in faithfulness (11:4-5), a promise to defend and aid the needy and poor. God is present with the weary, speaking words of encouragement and strength to those who are afflicted (50:4).
Reflect on your story:
- Which name for our Messiah speaks to your heart today? Can you express why?
