Through the Bible: 1 2 3 JohnSample

Walking in Truth and Love
And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. 2 John 1:6 (ESV)
John wrote his letter to encourage the believers to love one another, but he did not stop there. He further defined love in action as walking in God's commandments: we are taught to follow Him, discern false teaching, and love like Jesus. While living in a world that promotes "relative truth" and abuses the meaning of the word "love," walking in both the truth and love of Christ are especially important.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your reminder about the importance of obedience as an essential part of love. Lord, we seek Your guidance and help to love with wisdom, stay in truth, discern false teaching, and stay away from that. Lord, we thank You for Your provision and protection and pray all these in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.
About this Plan

The communities Apostle John pastored were filled with internal dissensions, false teachings self-claimed to be from the Spirit, and fake Christians who had depraved lifestyles. John wrote these letters to call readers to focus on the truth, discerning between the true and false teachings and between Christian and un-Christian behavior. The church door is open to all, but having the discernment to single out the pseudo-Christians is especially important.
