When is the last time you read about good news in the newspaper or on social media? It can be difficult to find positive things happening around the world. It’s no wonder we feel like losing hope in the face of all this bad news.
The story of Jesus is good news for all people. Good news for some people often means bad news for others — but not in Jesus’ case. The freedom that Jesus brings is news from which we can all gain hope. In a book written by Luke, Jesus tells what it means to set the captives free, bring liberation and justice to the oppressed, and restore all things. Jesus describes a life that is in relationship with God and each other.
