Gifted to ServeSample

Spiritual discernment is key to spiritual maturity, and Paul addressed that issue in Chapters 1 and 2. Human beings have always been tempted to follow a personality instead of God. The Corinthians’ wrong views on leadership threatened to divide the church in Corinth, and Paul tried to correct that problem in today’s passage. A. W. Tozer wrote, “If I understand correctly, Christ taught the alarming doctrine that the desire for honor among men made belief impossible.” The temptation to follow a personality can hinder us from following God.
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” John 16:13
