Prayers for Hard Emotions: A 5-Day Devotional by Asheritah Ciuciu

DAY 4 OF 5

FRUSTRATED

“Did I purify my heart and wash my hands in innocence for nothing?”

PSALM 73:13 csb

RECITE GOD’S GOODNESS

Righteous and Holy God, I know that You are indeed good. You see when I get up and when I’m on my way, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. You, Lord, know all things, and You guide me in the way I should go. You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

EXPRESS YOUR NEEDINESS

Lord, I sometimes get so frustrated! I’m irritated when people get away with crimes committed in plain daylight. How long will You leave the wicked unpunished? When will You finally bring justice for the victims of oppression? Lord God, You see it all . . . do something!

SEEK HIS STILLNESS

Take a few moments to become aware of God’s presence with you, His right hand holding you, His counsel guiding you. What does He want to say to you?

TRUST HIS FAITHFULNESS

On my own, I’m ignorant and foolhardy. I want to take justice into my own hands. But when I come into Your presence, God, I’m reminded that You are sovereign over all, and You will make all things right in Your perfect timing. I have no one else to rely on in heaven or on earth but You, so I trust You, God.
