Jesus: Higher Than AllSample

Who has the First Place in your Life?
“…that in everything He might be preeminent.” (Colossians 1:18)
It is God’s purpose that Jesus Christ is “in everything preeminent”. He is the most important. He received the most honorable position at the Father’s right hand, and everybody is to bow down before Him — including you.
Given the greatness of Jesus Christ that has been explained to us in the preceding verses, this almost sounds trivial. Who would not submit himself to such a great and awesome Lord? He is worthy of our praise and so good and loving that it’s a pleasure to serve Him!
In practice, we tend to take control over our own lives. We are often so occupied with ourselves and our desires that we, not Jesus, seem to have the supremacy. That way, we don’t give Jesus the honor He is worthy to receive!
If you walked into this trap, here is a reminder from 1 Corinthians 3:21-23. “All things are yours, whether ... the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.”
Jesus should be above everything else in your life. That is God’s purpose for you!
About this Plan

Jesus Christ is the major character in the Bible, and for good reason! In his letter to the Colossians, the apostle Paul explains how majestic and awesome Jesus is. This 9-day reading plan studies Paul’s words so you can discover for yourself why Jesus Christ should have the most important place in your life as well.
