Living Wise - Sermon on the MountSample

People choose to build their lives on all kinds of foundations. A person might build their life on the foundation of sport. Every decision they make is based on the sport that they love. What happens when their team doesn’t win? What happens if they have an injury and can’t play? A person might build their life on a foundation of being popular. Every choice they make is about becoming more famous. What happens when they find they aren’t as popular as they wanted to be, or someone unfollows them? We can choose to build our lives on a strong foundation. Jesus doesn’t change, He is a strong foundation.

How do we make wise choices? We don’t always know the right answer in every situation, but we don’t have to make choices all on our own. We have God’s Word and the Holy Spirit as our guide. Making wise choices means we trust God, obey His Word and seek His guidance. We won’t always get it right, we all make mistakes. We can learn from our mistakes and grow. Build your house on the rock.
