Influence of God's GlorySample

A Wise Leader
Absalom and Adonijah’s attempts to become king were thwarted. Solomon was seated on David’s throne and the people of Israel acknowledged him as their king. But Solomon would be inaugurated by God at the altar of Gibeon. There, God blesses Solomon with the giftedness he would need to lead the people. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Solomon is one of the best examples in Scripture of that truth.
1. How does Solomon’s wisdom impact his ability to lead? How should we apply that knowledge to our culture today?

About this Plan

By the end of this study, we pray that you will know God’s voice better, that you will know when and how he speaks, and feel compelled to obey. As we study Scripture, we will discover that God’s plan cannot be thwarted regardless of who is in power. The point of the original monarchy found in 1 and 2 Samuel, illustrates that from the beginning.
