Identity in Christ: A 40 Day JourneySample

Part 1: Truths About God
Day 3: God is my True Vine
Jesus reaches out to us and invites us to be a branch in His vine. Just as a branch is sourced with life-giving sap, without which it would wither and die, so Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit through Himself so that we could experience life. Abiding means to choose to dwell and remain in Jesus day in and day out. The truth is, without fully abiding in God, we will fail in our walk. We know we can ask Him to teach us to abide humbly in the vine, daily choosing to allow Him to refresh us.
Let's Pray
Thank You, Jesus, for offering Yourself as my life source. Thank You for joining me to You the way a branch is joined to a vine. Thank You that I can abide in You, live in You, be complete in You, and You will produce fruit through me. Thank You for giving me everything I need: all of the sustenance I need to face every day. I am sorry for the days I have chosen to live on my own without abiding in You. I don’t want to be the source of my own life; I want to find what I need in You. I choose to trust You, to stay close to You, to believe that You will grow me the way You choose. Please teach me to abide. Amen.

About this Plan

Knowing our identity in Christ - knowing who He says we are to Him - is one of the most powerful ways to enable ourselves to draw closer to God. Knowing our true identity is part of our roadmap to sanctification. We realise how free we truly are and how much He wants to lavish His love on us and fill our lives with purpose and meaning.
