Jesus&#8217; mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3When the wine was gone, Jesus&#8217; mother said to him, &#8220;They have no more wine.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 4 &#8220;Woman, # 2:4 The Greek for Woman does not denote any disrespect. why do you involve me?&#8221; Jesus replied. &#8220;My hour has not yet come.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 5His mother said to the servants, &#8220;Do whatever he tells you.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.#2:6 Or from about 75 to about 115 liters</div><div class="p"> 7Jesus said to the servants, &#8220;Fill the jars with water&#8221;; so they filled them to the brim.</div><div class="p"> 8Then he told them, &#8220;Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.&#8221;</div><div class="p">They did so, 9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, &#8220;Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 11What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.</div><div class="p"> </div>

I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.&#8221; 10So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, &#8220;Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?&#8221; 11As she was going to get it, he called, &#8220;And bring me, please, a piece of bread.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 12&#8220;As surely as the Lord your God lives,&#8221; she replied, &#8220;I don&#8217;t have any bread&#8212;only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it&#8212;and die.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 13Elijah said to her, &#8220;Don&#8217;t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: &#8216;The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.&#8217;&#8198;&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 15She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. </div>
