Through the Bible: JohnSample

Born Again
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.
John 3:3 (NIV)
When a baby is born, it signifies a change in environment. The baby is now exposed to the elements from being in a sheltered environment. As the baby faces survival challenges, the mother nurtures the baby while protecting and providing for their needs as they grow.
The same picture is painted in John when Jesus talks about being born again to Nicodemus. Here, the environment changes from a world of sin to the Kingdom of God. As we face challenges to grow our Christian faith and be more Christ-like, like a mother, the Holy Spirit nurtures us while protecting and providing for us.
To survive, we need a change in our hearts. Instead of hate, anger, jealousy, and other vices, we should respond with the Spirit's love, peace, and Godly qualities. May we choose to take this bold step of being born again. Being born is the start of a new journey where growth is essential.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help us choose to be born again and grow continually in our Christian walk. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
About this Plan

As “the disciple whom Jesus loved,” the author was undoubtedly an eyewitness to Jesus’ ministry from the beginning. The book emphasises both the deity and humanity of Jesus, known as Logos, and “was made flesh” to come into the world to save mankind from sin. Reading this book will increase our faith, and by believing Jesus as the Son of God, we may have life in his name.
